I bought this to use during recovery from total hip replacement surgery. I'm not sure I would recommend this: the published specs don't mention that the locking mechanism requires the toilet bowl rim to be limited to a fairly short/narrow rim. The toilet on which I needed to use this is an older model and has a deeper rim. Worse, though, the interior shroud on the seat doesn't extend uniformly below the toilet bowl rim. This allows body waste to escape into the space where the seat rests on the toilet bowl rim. I ended up calling a plumber three times, asking for a toilet leak to be fixed, and during the third visit, we finally determined that it was the seat's design, and not the toilet itself, that caused bodily waste to leak onto the bathroom floor around the toilet. Net, I'm actually fairly sure I do NOT recommend this particular seat.
